These stores are vast and include multiple floors packed with the latest hot products. Oxford Street’s HMV is a regular venue for album signings and if you are prepared to queue you might be able to get up close and personal to some of your favourite artists!

The West End’s Bond Street is the place to go for high end fashion and is home to designer names including Prada, Jimmy Choo and Ralph Lauren. Although you will need a hefty bank balance to shop here you can always enjoy a bit of window shopping at Cartier and Tiffany.

Covent garden market is a great place to shop for nic-nacs & vintage jewellery and being situated alongside street performers and jugglers it provides a vibrant and atmospheric shopping experience.

The shopping streets/areas in London

There are many major streets and areas in London where you can check out the stores and spend some money on things you need (or want). It’s hard to go even plan to go everywhere, but hopefully a short run-down of the options will help you choose:

Oxford Street: most shops open 10 a.m. until 6 or 7p.m. over the weekdays. It is best known for for Selfridges and the other big department stores.

Regent Street: similar shopping hours as Oxford Street. Good choice when you need to grab something to eat (a lot of restaurants are here).

Bond Street: home to the most elegant shops in London so you can find here designer clothes such as Gucci and Armani, as well as expensive perfumes.

Carnaby Street: is cheerful and filled with a variety of shops and places to eat.
Soho and Chinatown: bars and restaurants are heret for the thirsty and hungry traveler.
Kensington: is functional and filled with branches of well known stores. It’s less crowded than West End.
